20150213_190935‘I started travelling and living away from home since I was 12. Never did it crossed my mind to record my travels and experiences for posterity’s sake. Looking back, I wish I did but as they say, its never too late. So here’s to all those interesting places, famous and not-so-famous, home and abroad, near and far.’

I wrote the above when I first started this blog and as most of you would have noticed, the posts thus far has been mainly about places of interest within Malaysia.

Its not that I do not want to write about my travels abroad but the thing is, I have yet to ever since I started this blog.

For me those trips abroad prior to this blog being ‘launched’ eg Japan, Korea, USA, U Kingdom, Indonesia, Germany, Holland, Eire, France, Luxembourg, to name but a few, do not count.

But given the chance, I would love to go back to those places again and see the changes since I was last there. But as everybody who loves to travel and has travelled will tell you, only time and dinero will tell. And alas, I am no different.

Another thing is that, as I travelled more and more within my country Malaysia, either for the purpose of work or leisure, it has dawned on me that there are still many many more captivating and interesting places, within the borders of Malaysia, that I have yet to travel to.

shahsaidThose trips to Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah for instance, enjoying the fresh seafood abundantly available as well as sipping my hot mushroom soup at the foot of Mount Kinabalu, as well as to Kuching, Sarawak, strolling by the riverfront, for example, do not count, as they happened before I started writing about my travels.

Perlis, Labuan and Kelantan are other examples.

I plan to travel a bit more this year, to places I have been before as well as to places I have yet to set foot (and there are many!).

It is my fervent hope that I would be able to write about these places and capture the sights that I see, using the cameras readily available on my mobile of the day.

Should be great fun.
